As you take the seat at the center of the room the light, the sound and the walls awaken. The 24-sided moving walls begin to transform the space and your reflection disappears within the space. Dong has taken inspiration from this form of art, creating his own visual interpretation in Mountains. In order to mimic the wave motifs found in traditional depictions of oceans and seas, Waters uses shimmering, scaled fabric over motorized paddles to create wave-like movements. Small glowing objects, sit on the surface of the piece, representing islands. These persistent thoughts become obstacles and distractions during meditation. How can we eliminate these scattered thoughts and attain the state of "emptiness"?
